Bleh

Well I guess I like do another week recap. This week was kind of a 50-50 week. The beginning and end of the week were good but the middle was BAD.
Monday I finally got together with Soren to give him the checkerboard I crocheted for Soren, Jared, Baden and Andy. I had been done for about a month. In the afternoon we played frisbee with Zach, Camilla, Baden, and Zach's friend Stewart. Later that night is where things got interesting. Since we graduated, Soren had been talking about Risk and getting people together to play a pretty big game. Pretty big as in multiple boards. I had never played so this was going to be a learning experience. I felt that since I couldn't contribute a board or something that I should try and bring something. I ended up making cookies for the occasion (that is way I was "cookied out" and made pretzels for Logan and Rachel). I went over to Baden's to play Risk. He has a guest house sort of thing of his house and he has been staying there while not in Provo. It is apparently known as the "man-shack". It was pretty nice. Anyway, Soren, Baden, Jared, Joe and I all played Risk, ALL NIGHT. We taped three risk boards together (normal Risk, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings). The boards were connected with portals and bridges. It was wild. I started to get a migraine around 1 am. It wasn't quite as bad as the one I had at Owl City but still no fun. It got to the point where I almost threw up. Thankfully I didn't (probably only because I prayed that I wouldn't that would have been embaressing). Baden gave me some aspirin and I got better. Joe wanted to go home at like four so I gave him a ride and swung by Maverick on the way back. I picked up slushees and jerky. I returned and Jared left at like five. I ended up placing second which was a complete surprise. My strategy was terrible. Baden ended up winning. I also found out that I am pretty good at rolling dice. The game didn't end until seven am and I didn't get home until seven thirty. It was really good to do one last thing with those guys. Tuesday I seriously did nothing and I guess thing brings us to Wednesday.
Wednesday sucked. I woke up and one of my first thoughts was that all of my BYU friends were either already gone or leaving that day. I was supposed to babysit my friends kid that day but her ex wanted to see there kid and so she was too stressed to do what she was going to do while I babysat. She wanted to go on a drive and talk. I stepped out side my house and I looked in the mail box. I had lent Andy a book back in May and it was in my mail box with a note. I started bawling. I don't know if it was entirely people leaving but it was that and it felt like a certain portion of my life was over before I felt ready for it to be. It is complicated to explain but I did spend most of the day either eating ice cream or crying.
Thursday I visited Logan, Rachel and Chase at the highschool. I brought them cinnomon sugar pretzels. It was nice to see them. It was weird seeing the sophmores though. It was good I saw those guys though it cheered me up. On Friday I went shopping and I bought an adorable new skirt that I wore to church today. I also went to the football game. There was a ton of former seniors there so I sat with them. We totally got our butts handed to us though. We lost to the Pocatello Indians 41-7. I ended up talking with Chris. He got a job doing lawn care at Brent's Lawn and Leisure. I had a nice chat with him. I also chatted with a whole bunch of other people. The game ended and I ended up watching a movie with Chris, Jake, Jentry, Steven and other people showed up later.
Saturday I went boating with Rachel and her family and Cole. I almost didn't go because I was super tired but that would have been extremely stupid. I had never gone boating before and spoiler alert- it rocks! We got pulled behind the boat and I got some serious air. I got sun burned on my scalp because I always forget to put on sunscreen or sweep my hair so that wont happen. Totally worth it though. I had a blast. Such excitement with all these new experiences.
Well there isn't really much to report about today. I had to get my temple reccomend renewed so I chatted with the bishop to get that taken care of. It was sort of an interesting experience this time around though.
Anyway I hope everyone is doing well. Laura I was going to tell you to stay out of trouble at BYU but I guess it is a little late for that :).
Miss you guys
Sarah

Summers ending

Well My dear friends there is not to much going on in my life. the most recent news is that Taylor Comes home on December 20th so that will be cool to have him home for Christmas. He survived the earthquake without harm which is good as well. I am still plugging away at the guitar, which is named Stella by the way, I am not as good as Cole but I am practicing everyday making up cheese songs about whatever I am feeling at the moment. Um I got a letter from Taylor's mission companion including 2 pictures as well a a request asking me to write him back. Taylor has written me telling me to write him back am am slowly pulling a letter together but can only write so much a day. I start school on September 12 which is not news for most people but whatever. There was some drama at work as one of the sprinklers broke outside and the carousel flooded. I swept water outside for about an hour and a half then had to stay longer just to clean things up. not quite what I had in mind when praying for extra hours at work but I guess the Lord does work in mysterious ways. I have been spending my free time filling out job applications since the carousel closes in a week. Well that is about as exciting as my life is.
Hope everyone is doing well and having a blast with life,
Jessy.

Police Encounter

I know you just heard from me, but I have a good story to tell. (You can tell from the title haha :)
Anyways, Wednesday night, there were a bunch of parties going on for all the different on-campus housing. Since I live in Heritage, I started out there. It wasn't a very happening party, so my roommates, Avarie, and I decided we would go to the Heleman party. The Heleman party was located just a little ways away. We started walking, and came to a major intersection. We crossed about 5 feet of pavement and then we were on a triangular median. I turned around and noticed that there was a sign (facing the other direction) that said we weren't supposed to cross there. I pointed this out to everyone in the group and one of my roommates decided to just run across the street. As she was running I turned to the other direction and saw a police car..uh oh. We turned to walk the 5 feet back to the side of the road and the policeman pulled up beside us (with flashing lights I might add)..
Police: "I need to speak with you over there."
Thoughts through Laura's mind "Uh-oh. How do I tell my mom that I got in trouble on my 3rd night here."

We walked over to the police and he proceeded to tell us that we couldn't cross the road there..obviously..we noticed the sign. He pulled us over for good reasons because there have been lots of accidents there, but he seriously told us the same thing over and over: Don't cross here! It got really scary when he said he needed to take down our information..what the devil? He wanted to have our "warning" on record. I asked where we could cross the street and then he went on another rant about where the crosswalk actually was etc. He finally told us that he would just let us go without taking our information and drove away. It was crazy! My favorite was Avarie after "I thought I was going to get a mug shot!" I wasn't thinking quite that drastically, but it was a scary experience. Now I am very cautious about finding crosswalks to cross at.

This has been a wild week. My room is beginning to feel more like home. There have been parties and events all week and LOTS of free food. No wonder there is such thing as the "Freshman 15" they give us free ice cream every night! I miss you guys. Have a great weekend! Laura

Growing Up

Dear Friends,
What a week! Provo, Utah is my new home. I am still getting used to that, but it is getting better. Sunday night we started loading up the van..I didn't realize how much stuff I was bringing..it was quite embarrassing. My entire family came down to check out the new place, so the 4 of us had seats, and the rest of the car was packed to the hilt with boxes, books, food, etc. Unloading and unpacking was a million times worse. I had a few sad moments before I left the 'Burg.
1. We had back to school blessings Sunday night. After my dad finished mine, my mom started crying and said, "You should have gone to BYU-Idaho!" That made me start crying because I was honestly thinking that exact same thing earlier that day. I love my family, and it has been an adjustment to be here without them.
2. Sister Colvin and Caleb came over to say goodbye. Caleb had noticed we were loading the van and wondered what we were up to. I gave him a hug and tried to choke back tears. I love that boy and his wild comments so much! I didn't cry until I gave Sister Colvin a hug. I am going to miss my wonderful neighbors and friends.
3. Emily and I had a sleepover in my room Sunday night. We were laying in bed, and she suddenly burst into tears. She was making funny comments, but was genuinely concerned about how her life would be changing. We are both "only" siblings now..I am here, and she is left at home. I miss her! I know I wasn't always the best sister, but I love her and it was hard to leave her knowing that she was so sad and concerned.
4. Walking around the house before we left Monday morning was...weird. It is weird to think that our lives are continuing, we just aren't all together. It was especially sad because I don't know when I will be home before Christmas.

Claire, Avarie, and I have been on quite a few campus adventures.
We found Po from Kung Fu Panda in one of the buildings. Of course we
stopped to take a picture..

Now for some happier news. My new apartment is SWEET! It reminds me of a hotel. As a result, I still kind of feel like I am on a vacation with my things. We are making homey improvements which will help though. I will try to post pictures soon! I just barely finished organizing and putting all my stuff away. That makes me feel a little better. Now I just have to worry about school beginning. Tonight we are going to the "Y Not" party for all of the Heritage buildings. I am looking forward to that. I really like all of my roommates. They are very nice, and I think we will get along well. I have just been sitting around organizing, and walking A TON!! Yesterday, my feet felt like they did on our Disneyland trip..sore and tired.
Come visit me whenever you want! My living room/kitchen is big so we can party! :) Laura

A Death in the Family

Well I will address my title in a moment, first I will give some commentary on my week. I decided to wait until today to update because this way I would have a full week worth of stuff to mention. So I will start the recap on Thursday. We had that whole group things that was a good time. It was nice to get the gang back together. I don't feel like I need to elaborate on that too much. Well, Friday is where things get interesting. I visited Jessie at work. I chatted with her for a few hours I think. It was pretty slow but I hope I was obstructing job performance. Anyway while sitting there we noticed that Hannah, Amanda and Daniel were having a picnic. They ditched the basket in Hannah's van and then went back to sit in the shade. I said something to Jessie about how if I leave before they did that I would probably end up talking to them. Well I decided to let Jessie get back to work and so I left. They hadn't left yet and sure enough when I walked by I got a "Sarah!". I did end up chatting with them.
So it was Friday evening and there was little ole Sarah with no plans. Well I have adopted the strategy of leaving the house and seeing what happens. If I end up spending the night driving around, cool. If I end up socializing even better. So I went on a little drive and then I decided that I should swing by the county fair and see how that was. I like fairs and even though the county fair is usually pretty sketch. I was hoping they would have the carnival like they did last year but rumor has it that the company that normally is hired went bankrupt. Oh bother. Well I looked at the art and I ran into Cassie D. We chatted for a while. She was with someone. I think he name was Kenny, but he didn't speak clearly so I made sure to not have to use his name so I didn't look stupid. He ducked out for a minute and Cassie said something about him but it was one of those weird mouthing whispers so the best I could assume from that is that there may have been something awkward happening. I also ran into Liz and Parker. I asked them if they were looking forward to next year and they weren't. I guess they had a falling out with there group. Remember how Julie sort of stuck her hand somewhere indecent at the Christmas thing ( I think Logan usually is the one in the group to recount that story)? Well Liz said that Julie had done something similar to that one time when the group was watching a movie and Liz and Parker said something and the crap hit the fan from there. So this leads me to wonder if the Christmas thing was an accident. Either way they say she has changed and no longer does that sort of thing thank goodness. I was about to leave and then I ran into Mindy and Talon. We chatted for a while and then Mindy's mom decided to leave and take the moped that Mindy and her mom came on. I said I could give Mindy a ride since I was now socializing. We eventually wandered into the rodeo which completely sucked. They had somebody "bull riding" but the bull wasn't nearly pissed off enough. The guy riding it fell off when the bull wiggled its back. Pretty lame. I told the people I ended up talking to that I watched bull riding a while back and that if you want the bull good and pissed off you need to tie up its nads. What ideally should be done is you have a rope running around the bull and you get the rope in such a way that the nads are in a weird position and presto pissed off bull! My present company didn't find this information as useful as I did. Cort, Claire, Bryant and Rachel soon joined into the conversation. They were apparently on a date. Bryant and Rachel were talking about a child they were earlier tending and I asked if they babysit together. I asked because I say them herding children up by the temple. They said they do. I guess that is nice if they want to play house on there dates. I said that almost exactly. They weren't offended. I would have punched me if I said that. Anyway so I took Mindy home and that is the end of that.
Here is the death part. So I had a mouse in my basement for about a week and a half. He move in right as the last one died. This one however wouldn't die. He would set the traps off and lick the peanut butter off them but wouldn't get caught. Well I believe that if you are going to live with something for more than a week it should have a name, so I named the mouse Scamper. My sister was upset that I named the mouse but whatever. On Friday night, after the fair, about 11:30 I was sitting crocheting and I heard the trap go off and then some other noise. I figured Scamper set off the trap but again survived and was frolicking near the trap. I decided not to get up and check because I would look at him, he would look at me, I would yell "Scamper!" and we would both be scared. But about 20 minutes later I wanted licorice and I decided to check the trap. A little gray body was sticking out. I guess the noises I heard were Scampers death throws. It was sort of depressing. Too bad Scamper couldn't have made it to the humane catch and release trap like 5 feet a way. He could have been living high on the hog on the dry farms (I would have taken him to the dry farms because I hear that if you relocate a mouse within 4 miles of your house it can return). Anyway I feel a little bad. Scamper wasn't so bad as long as he wasn't eating my food or pooping or showing himself. Hopefully he isn't bitter. I hope he doesn't haunt the house, hopefully he was a righteous mouse that moved on peacefully. I think he only wanted food, shelter and maybe friendship. He had the first two for like 2 weeks and I think me giving him a name counts as friendship. I remember in seminary we learned that all righteous animals will worship at the feet of God. I hope that maybe in the great beyond I can track Scamper down and tell him that it wasn't personal. Also in the same vein of death my TV remote died. Not the batteries the remote so we had to buy a new one. Guess who got to program it? Me. I firmly believe that Hell is programing remotes YUCK. It took me like a half hour. Lastly I went to Seth's farewell today. He gave a good talk. It was nice. Well I am sure I have rambled enough, at least this time I had something remotely interesting to say.
Peace and Love (how hip of me to say)

Another day in the Boondocks

Haha, I just read your post, Cole- you should hear about the people I work/ed with.

Anyway, I just thought I would update you all to my life. Well, I have been working with the yard and planters, I got some new clothes for a bargain price.

Oh and while we were in the mall, my parents were lured in to a sales attack. There was this girl standing in the middle of the mall (by the carts) and as we we're passing she was like "Hey, you guys want some sunglasses? I can give you 2 for 20, no wait, I can give you 4 for 40, but tell you what for you guys, I'll give you a special deal: You buy 4 for 40, and I give you the 5th and 6th pair free. (Now keep in mind that there is only four of us, and we already have sunglasses). So of course we cave and start looking at the glasses. Half hour later, the mall is like abandoned (due to it being closed) and we are ready to buy five glasses. Then she says "Oh, I think you misunderstood, I said you buy 5 for 50 and I give you the 6th for free." Well, ma and pa just can't pass that one up, so we grab one last useless pair. Finally we are ready, and with excitement in their eyes, my parent give over the money. Well, long story short, we walked out of there with 7 sunglasses and $65 poorer. Oh and one of them wasn't even one that we picked out...

Also,  in other news, my brother is now driving, so stay off the roads. lol. No he is a good driver, it's just sort of annoying when he drives like 5 under the speed when I am used to driving 5 over. Whatever.

Umm, that is pretty much it i think. Oh and I am diggin' the new blog design. Anyway, I will keep my eyes open for any more good stories to tell.

Also, could we maybe blur out my face in the blog photo- I am not even sure what type of expression that is... Oh and here is a small token to remember summer by, as sadly it is winding to a close...

I work with idiots

The idiots that Im talking about is Holden, And Colby(Eyebrow boy for Sarah). Why are they? Because for the past months Ive had to deal with their stupid fighting, and dumb comebacks. The good thing thats going for me right now is that they are going to leave for school. But the bad thing is, is that when they leave I have to work with a gay fat guy. So I dont know which is better. And by the way the gay fat guy named Jordan, is also a idiot. I also have this girl that wont do a dang thing so I have to do everything she doesnt do. I work with another girl that complains about everything(and she just barely broke her back so at least I have a brake from her). So back to Colby and Holden tonight they said they wanted to hang, go to Holdens house they are long gone to Idaho Falls. So that makes me more mad at them. But I have to say they are pretty funny once in a wail. In family news my brother was put into the priests quorum. So thats cool. I saw this pretty good mob movie called Goodfellas. And I bought some songs by this funny guy named Tiny Tim. Dont know what else to say. But if you have any questions you can ask me tomorrow night.

Like Ships In The Night.....

"Ships in the Night" is the name of the Mat Kearney song I am listening to right now. I am trying to drowning out my neighbos' inspirational Mexican music ( I didn't know it existed either ha). Wanna know something funny? On my itunes when I uploaded Mat's new cd it put it in the genre of religious. What the devil? Basically the music that fills my days currently are Jack Johnson's "In Between Dreams" cd, "If This Was a Movie","Come in With the Rain", and "Ours" by Taylor Swift, Everything Regina Spektor, and "The Life Pursuit" by Belle and Sebastian. Thank you Cole for introducing me to some quality stuff.

My days in the last week have gone like this: Wake up at about 9:00, make cereal, toast, or oatmeal, put on a movie or surf the web (We have wifi in our apartment, so I use my laptop more than I should), then my roommae Paige gets home from work (she goes to work at 5:00 am and gets home about 11:00 am) and she takes a nap, so I either read, go on a walk, go to Walmart, watch a movie, or surf the web, then I make lunch (ramen, spaghettios, hamburger helper, soft tacos, etc.), then I check the mail and cross my fingers I get something, Paige wakes up and we talk and hang around, then at night we go to whatever church thing there is. Not very exciting I know, but since my other two roommates are out of town and they usually initiate the adventures we just chill. We have gone to the beach and hung out with people in our ward though. It is good because we have ben able to get to know each other really well. Basically, since I found out school doesn't start until OCTOBER 5TH, I tend to lose my mind at least once a day. That for me menas cleaning. I scrub the bathroom top to bottom, do the dishes and empty the dishwasher, do laundry, take out the trash, ans so on. I have watched about a million movies, and I've seen a lot I haven't seen so that is good. I have read a ton also.

So now that you think my life right now is pretty lame, I guess I will tell you that I have to go downtown on Thursday to register for classes and my school will help me find a job. Downtown is really pretty and my school is in a high rise building on the 3rd floor. I feel pretty classy walking around down there and taking the elevator up. I really am excited for school. I met a lot of cool people who go there and faculty at a student mixer last Saturday and I couldn't believe that I'd actually made it to the school of my dreams. Well, cross your fingers that I can get a job asap so that I'll stop acting like a housewife. Quick story about more crazy people in my ward. Every now and then we have an open mic night at the Institue building on Wednesdays. A lot of crazy people come out and sing podunk stuff and opera and whatnot. The last time when I hadn'r moved here yet apparently two guys went up to the front. One guy started playing a intense piano piece and the other guy goes to the front, pulls out a razor, and begins to dry shave off his beard, and then when he is all done with that he begins to cut off his hair. I guess the audience was completely silent during the whole thing because who the heck does that at a church activity? I'm curious about if he just let the hair get all over the carpet. There are plenty of other akward open mic night stories, but that one is my favorite. Also, our bishop did an extreme dating lecture and is trying to force the guys in our ward to date us girls. That was fun.

At least for most of the questions in my heart
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?

Of things that make no sense

Well my life is still pretty boring. I have done like nothing noteable in a while so I have been cycling through depression and complete outrage sprinkled with occasional periods of apathy. I other news I am pretty sure I was caught behind the tractor that chased us last year. I was driving and it was in the same neck of the woods and the same tractor color and shape so I feel comfortable making the assumption.
I have several things that make no sense that I feel like I need to vocalize
Point 1
I went to Broulims to buy apples today. I approached the the display for Golden Delicious apples. I was suspicous from the get go. The apples in the display looked much too green and shiny. Golden Delicious apples are usually a duller yellow. These were either imposter apples or unripe and doused in chemicals. Upon further inspection they were imposters. The apples in the Golden Delicious bin were in fact Granny Smith! The outrage! Well I decided not to do anything about it. Too much effort, I settled for the Red Delicious instead. Why would they do such a heinous thing though? It doesn't make sense.
Point 2
Somebody was hitting on my mom. Not like domestic abuse but like "Hey there good looking" via the internet. Yuck! So to give a full picture of this I will give background. I walk upstair on Tuesday to get some food. I look into the office and my mom is writing an email. I grab a cheese stick and on the way back to my lair I pop into the office and ask her who she is writing to. She responds John Adams. I get confused, the only John Adams I know is the founding father who is dead. I think maybe for a second she is doing something weird with some kiddy historical website. She says she met him because of Facebook and that he is in Florida. She told me that he was sad to hear that my grandma wasn't doing well. I got super confused. Who in the H-E double toothpicks is John Adams and why the crap does he know about my grandmothers failing health? My mother then explained to that this super annoying lady in the ward told her that was impolite to decline Facebook friend requests. John Adams had friend requested my mom and sent her an a message. My mother sent me a copy of this conversation chain so I will occasionally refer to it. My mom replied with something about how she was new to facebook and whatever. This guy then was like so am I. I saw you profile and I wanted to get to know you. And he was all like get a yahoo account so we can chat and stuff. Well my mom responded back with something about how she was teaching the sunday school lesson about how "God is not a respector of persons" and that and he wrote back. He told her that his girl friend had sex with his best friend and how they had to break it off and then told her that he was looking for someone to grow old and gray with and have kids with. AHHHHH! Thankfully my mom did her best to try to shut him down. I am not saying that my mom isn't cool or whatever just like ugh. It was really traumatizing. The emails also were riddled with like grammar errors and misused pronouns eck!.
Point 3
Right now there isn't a point 3. There was like 10 minutes ago but I forgot it my haze of yucko.
Well I think I will hang this one up for now. If I remember what the other thing was I will write that up too. Oh Cameron I really like the cat stories. I can like visualize them and it is just really awesome. Oh another thing. I miss the group like a lot. I thought everyone should know that.
Toodles,
--Sarah
Oh yea try to keep the whole creepy thing with John Adam and my mom on the DL. I don't think my mom is really too keen on me sharing that tidbit.

hmmm

Well I cant think of a title, but since there were so many requests, I will explain the cat stories.

1- I was in the singles ward on fast sunday, it was awkward, but good, then one guy gets up and he brings up how he woke up one morning to find his cat in his dishwasher- I don't know if it was alive or dead, I will have to ask him. For those of you wondering how this related to a testimony, he said how he wasd grateful for his mother, because she does the dishes, and it usually turns out cat free.

2- Yes, I am training my cats. They are extremely shy, and so I am using the 'sneak-up quickly, give off high pitch cat noises, and pet them gently approach' to get them used to people. I can't afford to have them scratching someone's face off when they get scared. Also, I am attempting to keep them out of the flowers, but thats a different story.

Anyway, I have been riding my bike to work, which has ben really rewarding, and I went on the Heise Zipline, which was awesome, except for when I was riding my bike up to the office, I lost my phone. I backtracked looking for it like 3 times, but no luck. No fears, I will figure something out, but until then, if you are dying to talk to me (I know I am in high demand lol jk) please call my house (208-538-7304)

See ya soon.

I don't even know...........

alright so i just remembered some quality things that have happened lately, here goes story #1-
i went to girls camp at badger creek, which was off the chain. we got to sleep in cabins with 4-6 people in them, and since i was a YCL (youth camp leader, for cole and cameron) i got to make the room assignments :) so of course i put myself with all of my peeps, jenna, michalea, and paige. we had a blastin time. we brought a porcelain doll, a twister mat that was used for a rug, a boquet of fake roses put in an old fashioned coke bottle, several posters, a class horse, and an ipod to decorate with. music wasn't allowed, but our leaders are like our bff's so the were like "whatever goes!!" so we constantly jammed out to a (edited) nicki minaj song called "check it out" and posted a couple of vidoes on youtube of our adventures too. we also had braids in our hair and were stuffed with the spirit and food all day long. girls camp is one of, if not the best week of my year!
my parents left to missouri before we left to camp (my sister had a baby boy!!) and were gone when we came home also. so paige and i had to haul picking 6 gallons of raspberries and ripping up jenna's floor (and we got those huge trucker cups with insulators in them from sis. bates for helping, wahoo!) and then we got 3 hours of sleep that night because paige and i had to catch a 4 o clock bus to provo.
i hiked the Y while i was there, caught up on some trends at DI (ha:), had sub zero ice cream, which is awsome, and played with conner, page, jenna (my sis) and her fam. it was awesome. i just got home tonight.

here's some fam news: my cousin that is just 3 months older than i got pregnant. nope, she's not married, and yes, she is going to be a senior this year. she lives in utah and it's one of the saddest things i have heard in a while. CTR!!!
sorry, that was a damper. and i hope that i never hear that any of you guys get pregnant out of marriage (especially from cole and cameron!) ha.
i love you all. l8r sk8ers, logan.

"GRACE!!!!"

That is the quot from the movie Farris Bullers day off. That is one of the movies I watched this week. I have also watched Cowboys and Aliens and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  Go see Cowboys but not Apes! Um I have gone boating and surfed. Wa hoo! I am still working on sending my papers on the internet but our internet has been being stupid. My dad has just bought a new truck so thats exciting. I have learned how to play some more Iron and Wine songs. I got a cool mustache magnet. I now have a calling, i am a primary teacher for the 8 year olds with the drama teacher Mr. Hibbard so thats kind of exciting. And i have been hangen out with my boy Cam!!! Yeah yeee. ("Maybe we should kill her" haha a little joke for Cam) I have also watched this cool war movie Patton. You should all watch it. A cool band I have found is Ben Solle. Work has been going good. I laid sod for two days and I am proud to say my muscles  have gotten bigger, who ya. Oh and Cameron we need to go mountain biking now.well untill next time.
Said the plain clothes cop to the holy ghost
“I’ve heard nothing yet that wasn’t the wind”
And we all got sick on a strip club meal
While the statehouse pardoned all the witches again
So the white tooth man with his kids in the car
And a wad of money that was already spent
Said “I love my dog but she just ran away,
She’ll keep running like the world never ends”" -Iron and Wine ,Whit Tooth Man

"I'm gonna be the best black Mormon in the whole world!"

Yes, that is a direct quote from this insane guy named Trey in our ward. He was hitting on my roommate Monica in the most forward of ways. She told him she wanted to be a teacher and he said " Yeah your students are gonna come home and be like I have a smokin' teacher!" He kept complimenting her and freaking her out. He also came in the kitchen where we were preparing food and said " Am I freaking you out? Yeah, I know what it's like to be the outcast and not be accepted." I was trying so hard not to laugh because it was so akward and how the heck do you respond to that? "Well maybe if you weren't nuts....." Just kidding, that isn't nice. There is also this crazy guy in the other ward that plays volleyball with my ward on Friday nights. He was EXTREMELY intense. He would sere it so hard it would go out every time. Also he would run all over the court to get the ball instead of playing in his space. I was laughing at him the entire time. When he would mess up, he would chew himself out. "Ugh! That was weak!" There is also some very loud, extreme vibrato, out of tune singers. Church was very entertaining yesterday.
Some fun things I have done lately are scootering down a path on the beach for 6 miles and then running like crazy into the ocean and getting pulled under a giant wave, going to IKEA in my pjs with no makeup and wet hair to get free breakfast on Mondays (We got there at 10:55), playing lasertag for my roommates birthday, and floating on kayaks in the bay and listening to Matisyahu's concert. THere is so many free things to do here because there is probably 5 or 6 colleges. Also we have church on Sundays, FHE on Mondays, guy's softball on Tuesdays, free dinner at the Institue building on Wednesdays, and volleyball on Fridays. It feels like Rexburg because you are arounf LDS people all the time! When school starts I won't be able to go to as many activities but it still nice that there is so much going on.
That's about it for me. I miss you guys terribly! Call me or something. Here is a video with a Matisyahu song. See if you recognize it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BitShRujoeA
Love ya, Moriah

Once upon a summer...

Finally got to it. Anyway let me just bring you up to date on how my summer has flown by. I've done lots of fun things with my friends (you might know some of them), also I went to Cali for a couple days, visited my sis in Jackson- we went biking, hiking, and floating (classic Heather Vacation), and have had my mom get me ready for college haha. Also I think I am well on my way of doubling the number of dates I've gone on in my life in just this one summer. (Boo-ya)

Um, I've been going to the singles ward, which is always a treat, aspecially when you get to hear someone give a testimony on the time when they have put their cat in the dishwasher. been working a lot, which I am tired of, but it all paid off when I was able to buy a new mountain bike. (I think I've been married to my old K-Mart one for like 9 years lol).

On the slower paced days; I go through the depression cycle for no other reason, sleep in, eat way too much or not nearly enough, and try to train my extremely shy cats. Oh Shout out to Riah b4 I forget: The gift finally came, and it has been personalized. You should be getting it soon (I think).

Anyway, I think that pretty much sums it up I will try and get on here more than my facebook haha.
See ya'll soon.

Writers Block

Well I am supposed to be writing my article for the paper but I have no clue what to write. So I guess I will prime the pump and update y'all on what is going down. So last Saturday day night I went to the opening ceremonies for the folk dance festival and Laura was nice enough to let me sit by her. Between all of us, Laura is really cool. Then on Monday I went to the parade and street dance but we got rained out. I ended up hanging out with some people and I watched Insidious. It was random. It was nice to socially interact with people though. Word to anyone concerned Insidious was kind of stupid. It was only my second ever horror movie so I am not really an expert but I like to think I know a stinker when I see one. I went to Idaho Falls today and while driving back I figured out how to crochet Mjolnir (Thor's hammer). Yes I am a super nerd but whatever. I had some nice Maui Onion potato chips today. They kind of left a bad taste in my mouth but they tasted good at the time I was eating them. My sister and I watched Deadilest Warrior tonight. It was Army Rangers versus North Korean Special Ops and spoiler alert we won.
For some reason I am really looking forward to fall. I am not looking forward to school, I just miss hoodie season. Something about hoodies and sweaters and the like are very appealing to me and unfortunately Summer is too blooming hot for them. Also you can't really buy them in the summer either so it is like a double whammy. I don't like it. I feel like I should be saying something really profound like proclaiming undying love for someone or complaining about some sort of terminal disease. Oh! For some reason terminal diseases reminded me of this. So I go to the adult sunday school class in my ward now. Sister Larsen is the president of the class and every week before the lesson she tells us how many weeks are left in the year and any random holidays that are coming up. Well last Sunday was apparently National Cotton Candy Day or something and I had a little outburst. I basically yelled that I loved cotton candy. Well the next day lo and behold Sister Larsen brought me cotton candy. I thought that was pretty nice. I need to thank her for that on Sunday. Oh Logan, Chase told me that he has a story for us about his creepy stalker girl, so we should probably get to together and get the scoop from him. He said it was a longish story. For those who aren't aware, this girl is madly in love with Chase and is really terrible at hiding it (aka stalking and general creeping). Well I hope that everyone is happy, healthy and emotionally secure. Hopefully I can scrape up something interesting for next time. Maybe I could go out and scout for some scandalous behavior.

My First Job Interview

Although "My First Job Interview" is not an overly creative blog post title, I hope this will be entertaining. I wanted to tell someone about my job interview experience (and vent!!), and you are the lucky recipients!

Basically, I need a job so that I can have money to live. I have had multiple jobs in my life, but none of them have required a job interview. I am more the "self- employment" type. :) I obsessively check the BYU employment website each day, and I apply for any job that I find interesting.

My cousin works in the Student Leadership office at BYU. One day, I noticed an opening in that office available and I quickly applied. A few days ago, my cousin (Jenni) called me and set up a time for a phone interview. I was excited that I even got an interview, because I have applied for quite a few jobs, and I have not heard back from any of them! Sadly, the interview times were all on Wednesday (today), and I had plans to go shopping in Idaho Falls. I agreed to a Wednesday phone interview appointment anyways, and thought it would all work out just fine.

Today we were in Walmart and 10 AM was approaching. I rehearsed possible questions last night, and I even had notes I could look at during the interview. I went out to the car and waited for the dreaded phone call. That was the first mistake. Sitting in the car in the middle of summer w/o the air conditioning on is a bad idea! Besides that I was EXTREMELY nervous, and by the end of the 14 minute phone call I was super hot and sweaty. The interview itself started out pretty well, but the questions caught me off guard. I didn't know the answers to some, and I didn't think (because I was nervous) before I answered others. It was bad! To make it worse, my cousin is part of the interviewing process, and even asked me questions! I was disappointed with myself when it all ended, but I was glad for the job interview experience, and they hadn't told me "no" yet so there was still hope. After the phone call ended I noticed a mysterious pain in my arm. The only thing I can think of is that I was so nervous I gripped the phone a little too tightly! (It still hurts over now...12 hours later!)
They told me they would make a decision later today and let me know either way. I waited all day for a phone call. It never came. I figured it had been so bad, they had just sent an email that said "no." I was dreading coming home to read it, but at the same time relieved because I would know. I came home from IF, checked my email, and there was no mail! I really wish they had already decided, and let me know because then I would not be worried about it all night. I know that whatever happens is for a reason. I would really love this job, and I think I would be good at it with a little practice. I just hope that I didn't make a total fool out of myself on the phone and that there is still hope.

Thanks for listening to me tell my story and vent. I am probably overreacting. I always think I do worse than I really do. I will let you know what I find out.

In other news: My sister told me my pale/white skin would have been in fashion 200 years ago when women walked around with parasols to shade themselves. YES!!! I didn't know whether to feel good about being "fashionable" or offended. I am leaning toward being offended. :) ~~Laura
