Hey, hey, hey from California. Luckily, the harsh reality of "You're an adult who has no money, in a city of over a million people" hasn't hit me yet. I think it is beatiful down here in SoCal (hip I know). I love the beachcruisers, surf shops, old Spanish style houses, authentic Mexican food, the PCH, palm trees, constant 75 degree weather, docks, city lights, etc. I am at my Uncle's apartment in Long Beach right now. He lives across from a really pretty beach where they actually film a lot of CSI Miami. Cool eh? I know soon (probably when my Mom leaves) it won't feel like a vacation anymore. I haven't met my roommates yet, but I dropped my stuff off today. All my stuff fit in the closet which is great, but the room is a little small so I will be getting to know my roommate pretty well. I was hoping to be close to a park so I could talk walks and read, but I don't see one. There is a huge shopping plaza with Target, Walmart, Ross, Khol's, Starbuck's, and whatnot across the street but it isn't like I can go on a spending spree ha. As we knoe though, Walmart can be entertaining, so I might just go check out the harlequins and pretend you guys are with me. I officially move in on Tuesday and my Mom and I have a meeting with my admission advisor that day. On Monday my Uncle is taking us to Knott's for Morgan's birthday. Want to know something that cracks me up? even in a sundress or shorts and a t-shirt I am wearing more clothes than anyone on the street. Maybe it won't be too hard to spot other LDS people ha. I hope my ward is good. I hope I get alog with my roommates. I hope I get as much financial aid as possible for school. That is a lot of sitting, waiting, and wishing (Jack Johnson reference). I miss you guys. Text me or call whenever. I really don't feel that far away from you oddly. It looks a lot farther on a map I promise. I think this flog is working nicely. I can hear all of your voices through your writing, especially you Sarah ha. Keep writing, keep dreaming.
Love Always, Moriah

I finally finished it!
These are the game pieces. I sewed buttons on the back so that if a piece gets kinged you can just flip it over instead of stacking pieces.
I HATE Mosquitoes, but Mosquitoes LOVE me!!
I went on a camping trip this week. I think I used gallons of bug spray, and I still have millions of mosquito bites. For some reason they like eating me- it must be my sweet personality or something like that. :) Some of the camping highlights included: being with my cousins, boating, trying to catch fish with our bare hands (unsuccessful), swimming, listening to my family try to sing (they can't sing which is why it was so entertaining), hiking, and exploring.
I have been kind of sad lately, because things are beginning to change. My cousin, who has been here at school for years, just graduated and she is also getting married. She left for good just a few days ago. She started crying when she left, and that made me cry. She is like my second sister and I am going to miss her a lot! The other day I had a panic attack when I realized I am moving into my dorm in a month-- now it is less than a month. I will officially move away on August 22nd. I don't feel like I am ready, but I am so excited! I will definitely miss Rexburg, and all the friends I am leaving behind, but at the same time I will enjoy meeting new people and having new adventures. I think my excitement is greater than my fear right now, but I am sure as it gets closer I will become a nervous wreck. I was glad to read, you are all still living after your Monday adventure. Your deaths would have put me over the edge!

Oh here it goes here it goes here it goes, again.
Hey yall this is my first time righting a post on here. My summer has been pretty mundane. Just working for the Parks department. Weed whacking everyday having to look at all the collage kids snogging (kissing). It is very disgusting. I have been working on my papers to be a missionary. I am almost done with them. This friday I have to get a tooth pulled. Which wont be fun. Um my cousin is engaged. But you obviously dont know her. I have been learning new songs, "King of Spain" "Half Moon" "Skinny Love". Lately I have been obsessed with the band the Black Keys. All of you should listen to them. My cousin Tate went to the national high school championship rodeo for steer wrestling. Got 23 which doesnt sound good but there is a butt load of people there so its good. Im planning to get some Ray Ban glasses. I want a drum set way bad to, but got to save for the mish. I just found that one of my favorite bands Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are coming out with a new album in September, so I am way excited for that. And im going on a date with Mindy so im excited for that. Also lately my brother has turned in to this want to be cowboy. Which is kind of weird but my be Cameron could give him a few pointers. HAHAHAHA. Well until next time. "Let me be your Everlasting Light, The sun when there is none, Im a Shepard for you and I'll guide you though, Let me be your Everlasting Light"-Black Keys

That one time we all almost DIED...
I got the vibe that I was responsible for putting this up for like memories sake so I will. Also it will come in handy when I get around to putting it in my journal besides I need something to do while my pain killer kicks in. So for anyone unfortunate enough to miss out on our extreme experience at Cole's Pond (technically Cole's grandpa's pond) let me set the background. So after Moriah's little going away party on Friday, there was talks of a party on Monday (today). Well it came together and the plan was to head out to the pond and has some water recreation and campfire bonding. Things went basically according to plan (even me almost drowning, I think that may have been subconsiously part of the plan from the get go but thankfully Cole saved me from a potential watery grave). So things were going splendidly until there was a freak hurricane in Lyman. It started all softly and we casually relocated to the covered pavillion. The storm suddenly intensified into this freak category five hurricane. We moved farther back to where there was some walls for additional shelter. I personally, could barely hear anyone over the whipping wind and the extreme rain on the metal roof. I went out and sat on the dock and then sat in the swing for a while. The rain stung and was cold but I can't stand when I can't hear conversations so it was better than constantly asking "What did you just say?" The rain continued in this manner for well over 20 minutes (probably some sort of record for Idaho). Thankfully it eventually ended and oddly enough the fire was still going. We move back out to the fire chat and make smores. About an hour or two later I started noticing really light rain drops and then the wind picked back up suddenly. The fire didn't respond well to this and basically everybody got hit with some embers. We all get kind of freaked out and decided that we should probably leave the pond for the night before we all died. Everyone was running around and putting stuff away and gathering their belongings. Now let me say this, if you weren't there you may think that we are wussies and that a little wind isn't bad at all. I don't have specific wind gust numbers but I do have this. I was carrying a chair back to the pavillion and decided that I should grab my keys off the bench before they blew away. I got the keys and then I heard a loud bang. So did everyone else. Several yelled out "what was that?". I said that it might have been the chair that I abandoned to get my keys and that maybe a wind gust carried it somewhere. I unlocked my car to put some stuff in it (which results in the headlights turning on, yeah be jealous) and that moment was one of the weirdest of my life. It was a mix of dumb struck, terrified, disbelief and later thankfulness. My headlights showed that what we were dealing with was no camp chair. The CANOE from earlier had been blown by the wind over 100 feet and now sat in front of my car. I anounced my discovery and come to find out that the canoe flew right over Logan's head and could have decapitated her (which would be very BAD). Well the canoe was carried back to its place and we all moved the remainder of the evening to Rachel's house. I will say this- we are freaking lucky. Maybe it is my inner drama queen but I would say that things could have ended pretty badly for us tonight.

unfortunately the post needs to be amended. The canoe didn't hit my car at all, it did however hit Moriah's car :(

SUMMER!!!
Well this is a first for me. I can now cross "have a blog" off my bucket list. Summer has been fun and crazy at the same time, crazy cause the only conversations I have had with my parents lately is about college and money or more importantly money FOR college and the fact that I have limited funds and no scholarships. Fun because I guess they feel like I have to get out of the house before they can talk about that stuff so we have talked about it over dinner, shopping, fishing, and shooting. Well I am going camping for the first time this summer in a few weeks. If you know my family well you should know that it is weird that we haven't gone yet we normally go every other week but this summer has been to busy. And Logan I have to say I was so much like you. There was now way in heck I was going to byu-i. I even got accepted in to provo ( where I have wanted to go since I popped out of the womb) but My luck stars ( or God) had different plans for me and now I am staying here. haha we could be roomies. well I hope everyone starts writing on this blog. And Moriah I think it is a great Idea. --- Jessy

Here goes
I have never blogged before so this could be interesting. I write just well for the paper, my journal and school but the world wide webberverse is kind of... well vast. First I must say that I appreciate that we changed the picture. I wasn't in the tea cup picture and that kind of harshed my mellow. This far my summer has been insane and yet completely normal. I suppose I should start by saying that my life has changed fairly drastically in the past year. I have all these new friends, I crochet now, and I just have a general feel of being like an adult of some crap like that. With that said, all this new stuff has lead to more new stuff. My summers have been fairly sheltered but this summer has been a whole new experience. I feel like this is what summer is about. I am basically playing ultimate frisbee about once or twice a week (which is more than I ever thought I would play after middle school PE), I crochet some pretty zany stuff ( I am working on a checker board right now) and then there is crazy new life experiences. Today, I canoed for the first time ever and then last week I went bridge jumping. For the sake of complete honestly I should say that I actually didn't jump. I am afraid of heights and drowning so I watched bridge jumping more than anything, but I got sunburned while there so I figure it counts for something. I have been driving a fair bit too. I drove out to Terreton the other day when I got annoyed and then I got super ticked off at church on Sunday so I went extreme dry farming. I have star gazed thrice within the past week. This week is pretty booked out at this point. Next week I hope to go to X-Men First Class again with one of my friends who has not seen it. Oh yea, I have become even more mildly obsessed with superheroes than I normally am. I had a really strong urge to try and crochet Mjolnir (Thor's completely pimp hammer) last night and then I fell asleep while thinking about adamantium (the metal forged to Wolverines bones). Well I am sure that at this point I am prattling. So joy and blessings to you and yours or however you end one of these flipping things...

College..........
So since summer has started i have been obsessed with thinking about college, i have spent so many hours thinking about what i want to do in life, looking up schools , planning my budget for the next couple of years to save money, and weighing out the pros and cons of going to college far away, or staying close to home. it is all very streesful. for now my major is going to be landscape design/management. BYU-I is the perfect school for my major, it is cheap, right in town, and has all of my dream classes. except for the fact that i dont want it so close. i have always wanted to go to college at least a couple of hours away, just to get out and see a new part of the world. my dad gave me a lecture the other night about college, because i really want to go to BYU-Hawaii, but it is more expensive and doesnt have my major (i would just go there for my associates). he told me that if you have a cupboard, and the only thing that is in there is potatoes, then you have to eat them, no matter what way you cook them, they will still be potatoes. (potatoes=BYU-I) i told him that no, BYU-I was the maggot inside the potatoes. ha. but listen, i am very happy for anyone that has chosen that school, i really am, its just that i have never really wanted it for myself. so last night, i went on another frenzy of college searches and was looking at majors at BYU, i have looked at their majors before, but it never said that it had a landscape/horticulture program. but last night it did!! i must have missed it or it was hiding or something. so now i am going to work so hard so that i can hopefully get in there. i want it soooo bad, and i have two siblings that live down there that are my best friends, so that makes it even better. so i registered for the ACT again and ordered a huge prep guide book and will study like crazy once i get it. anyways, sorry about that huge rant, but it is nice to tell someone who isnt going to run away, ha :) i hope to see a post from all of you soon. love you!! -logan
