I finally finished it!

 This is the checker board that I crocheted (mentioned in my first post). It is composed of somewhere in the neighboorhood of 10,000 single crochets (it has a backing too so ya).

These are the game pieces. I sewed buttons on the back so that if a piece gets kinged you can just flip it over instead of stacking pieces.
